Bhedaghat : The marble rocks of  Bhedaghat in Madhya Pradesh is a must see.

Places to visit -

Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat : The magnificient Marble rocks soaring in glittering splendour rise to hundred feet on each side of the Narmada river. Boating facilities are available from November to May. Boating by moonlight is a thrilling experience. Excellent artifacts carved in soap stone are available here.

Dhuandhar Fall : Narmada river making its way through the Marble Rocks, narrows down and then plunges in a waterfall known as Dhunadhar or smoke cascade. The roaring fall can be heard from a far distance. The fall and the breaking of the volume of water at the crest presents magnificient spectacle.

Chausath Yogini Temple : The 10th century shrine of goddess Durga is situated atop a hillock. The temple is approached by a long flight of steps and commands an awe-inspiring view of the Narmada river flowing through the jagged marble rocks.

 
Bhimbetka - An archaeological treasure

This world heritage monument, was discovered in 1958 by archaeologist late Sri V.S. Wakankar. These are about ten thousand years old. There is a group of over four hundred rock-shelters containing prehistoric paintings of men and animals in myriad forms.

It has justifiably becomes famous as one of the richest group of rock shelter paintings in the world. The place is 40 km away from Bhopal on Bhopal - Hoshangabad project.

How to Reach -


By Air :  Bhopal (40 km from Bhimbetka) is the nearest airport. It is connected with Mumbai, Delhi, Indore and Gwalior.

By Rail : The Delhi-Madras and Delhi-Mumbai mainline is the most convenient rail-head.

By Bus : Bhimbetka are connected by bus with Bhopal.
