Indore
Indore is the largest city in Madhya Pradesh,
situated on the Malwa plateau, just south of the Satpura Region.
It was formerly ruled by the Maratha Maharajas of the Holkar dynasty. After
India's Independence in 1947, Indore together with a number of neighboring
princely states, became a part of the Indian state of Madhya Bharat. On
November 1, 1956, Madhya Bharat was merged into Madhya Pradesh, with Bhopal as
the capital city.
Lal Baag Palace, Bada Ganpati, Kanch Mandir, Town Hall, Central Museum, Gita
Bhavan, Annapuran, Bijasen Tekri, Khajrana, Gomatgiri are a must see places in
Indore.
Indore airport is about 9 kms west of the city center, connected by regular flights to Mumbai, Kokatta, Delhi and Gwalior It is on the western railway and is connected with major Indian cities.
